Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Andalas, Indonesia is pleased to invite you to participate in International Conference on Agrifood System (ASIC 2018) that will be held in Kyriad Hotel Bumi Minang - Padang, West Sumatera, Indonesia. This conference offers the event for two days consisting of paper and poster presentations from 4^th - 5^th September 2018, and one day for conference trip on 6^th September 2018. In line with theme: “Agrifood system towards Agriculture 4.0 and delivery of Sustainable Developments Goals (SDGs)”.

  Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Andalas, Indonesia is pleased to invite you to participate in Agrifood System International Conference (ASIC 2018) that will be held in Kyriad Hotel Bumi Minang - Padang, West Sumatera, Indonesia. This conference offers the event for two days  consisting of paper and poster presentations from 4^th - 5^th September 2018, and one day for conference trip on 6^th September 2018. The theme of conference is “Agrifood system towards Agriculture 4.0 and delivery of Sustainable Developments Goals (SDGs)”.

  
  

  As Industrial revolution enters Industry phase 4.0, the same also hold true for agriculture industry. The common characteristics of Agriculture 4.0 is the integration of information technology into agriculture analogue to Industrial Revolution phase 4.0. The Agriculture 4.0 increases yields, reduce costs, less crop damage, and minimize water, fuel, and fertilizer usage. These objectives can be achieved by using big data, employing drones and robotics, for data collection, using Internet for all things (IoT), applying vertical farms, artificial intelligence (AI), and solar energy through the integration of digital technology into farming practices. These things benefit both consumers and producers.

  
  

  On the other hand, the era 4.0 coincides with the era of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), where agriculture 4.0 could be a means to achieve SDGs. New capacity is needed to implement the agrifood system in Era 4.0. This conference will discuss further about opportunities, challenges and impacts lie ahead when implementing Agriculture 4.0.
